Complete kit for Wide Block including LOF HD CLUTCH & FLYWHEEL

This kit is Designed to allow the fitment of the Ford Getrag MT82 6speed transmission found in the Land Rover Defender 2007 onwards and a number of Ford Vehicles to mate to the 6-cylinder BMW Engine M57N & M57N2 onwards (Wide block engines 306D2). 

These are also found in the BMW 3 E90 and 5 E60 (2006 on) series, X3 E83 (210HP) and X5 E53 (DDE5) E70

We have engineered this kit with simplicity in mind with the use of as many off the shelf items as possible which not only will simplify future repairs, Removing the need for specialist and one of items gives extra security that parts will always be readily available from Land Rover/Ford Main dealerships throughout the globe.

We have based our kit around common Land Rover Parts from the Defender 2.4/2.2 TDci where the transmission is already fitted from factory from 2007 onwards not only does this allow the end user to reuse some of the parts when carrying out an engine swap again it keeps things very simple if replacements are ever required.

Our adapter uses a standard single mass flywheel as apposed to the original Dual mass flywheel fitted to the BMW engine, After much testing we are happily report that we have not experienced any increase in noise from the transmission with the engine idling in neutral which sometimes can be the case when swapping from a dual mass to single mass flywheel. However some increased noise is to be expected at low speed manoeuvring, This however is more evident from higher mileage transfer cases.   (Tested on a healthy MT82 Transmission with the correct specification oil).

A benefit to using the standard Land Rover/Ford flywheel is that there a no special clutch plate required and again off the shelf parts can be used, Secondly the Expensive BMW Dual Mass flywheel can be discounted from your conversion costs as these flywheels should really be treated as a service item. Again all Land Rover/Ford factory hydraulic components are used.

Another added benefit is it that there is simply NO cutting of the transmission casing required, There are several benefits to this the first one obviously being reduced labour times, And removal of any chance of mistakes when making modifications. Although the biggest consideration is that the transmission core will very likely be rejected in the event of a exchange transmission being required in the future due to modification.

M57N2 (Aluminium blocked engines)  will require 1x M12 Helicoil to be installed in the engine block. (NOT Included)
